The VA Medical Center located at 423 E 23rd Street, Manhattan, New York has been providing care and services for Veteran’s since it was erected in 1954.

Dynaire was contracted to replace one of the existing chillers located on the second floor of the facility. The scope of work included replacement of one 1200 ton water cooled chiller with related variable frequency drive, hydronic piping and valves. Coordination was required with the VAMC’s Department of Facilities and their controls contractor which ensured a trouble free transition. Construction was performed during the winter months, beginning in late November to ensure the systems completion for the upcoming spring/summer season. ($1,235,000.00)


Southport Shopping Center located at 1019 Montauk Highway, Shirley New York, a vacant space (184,000 sqft.) developing into individual units.

Dynaire was awarded the contract to install new heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for many of the retailers, including Modells, Michael’s, GNC and Dress Barn. The scope of work included but was not limited to new roof top units, exhaust fans, unit heaters and galvanized duct distribution and exhaust systems as required. ($ 500,000.00)


Amityville Village Hall located at 21 Ireland Place, Amityville, New York three-story, 20,000 square-foot American Georgian-style building houses the Police Department, Village Administration Offices.

Dynaire was contracted to overhaul the entire HVAC system. The goal was to reduce energy consumption, minimize environmental impact and improve long term health of employees. Geothermal heat pumps provide the building with heating and cooling.

This building received a record five awards for being a model for high performance buildings in Suffolk County and only the third LEED gold certified project in the County. This included the 2009 Smart Growth Award - Green and Energy Efficient. ($ 760,000.00)


Tilles Building located at 88 Froehlich Farm Blvd, one of Woodbury’s premier offices spaces for which the Tilles Organization was awarded, the ABLI/CIBS Developer of the Year, for this project.

Dynaire was contracted to both design and build the heating and air conditioning system for this new building. Dynaire performed all of the engineering and prepared the contract documents for this project. The HVAC system consisted of 10 high efficiency VA V roof top units and twelve (12) modular boilers. All sheet metal was fabricated by Dynaire’s sheet metal division (Aeroduct) and incorporated forty-seven (47) fan powered mixing boxes. In addition, Dynaire designed and installed a Carrier BMS control system with remote off-site monitoring capabilities. ($1,500,000.00)


Macy’s Parkchester encompasses 129 acres of retail stores, restaurants, professional offices and residential apartment buildings which are home to over 43,000 residents.

This project consisted of renovating all mechanical systems within Macy’s retail space, in addition to multiple retail spaces along Metropolitian Ave. a new twelve (12) section multi stack water cooled chiller and an Evapco two (2) cell cooling tower was installed. In addition, thirteen (13) custom manufactured Carrier air handling units and associated BMS controls were installed in mechanical rooms throughout the building. This installation required after hours work shifts to allow the store to operate undisturbed during normal working hours.

The adjacent retail spaces were conditioned with Skye Mark indoor air-cooled Packaged Units including custom manufactured Condenser air ductwork and louvers. ($2,500,000.00) 


Sands Point Preserve – Hempstead House a 50,000-square-foot Tudor-style mansion, built by Howard Gould. Hempstead House measures 226 feet long and 128 feet wide. The first and second floors of the Hempstead House measure over 1.5 acres. Stonecutters, masons and sculptors were imported to carve windows, cornices, columns, towers and gargoyles, most of which have been preserved.

This design Build Project created many challenges for Dynaire’s Engineering Staff. There were many structural and esthetic issues that needed to be considered for this project. Dynaire furnished and installed several Daiken VRV ductless split system throughout this building. ($250,000.00)
